Population Monitoring

Using genetic analysis the Hellenic Bear Register aims at monitoring the population status of brown bears in Greece.

A project carried out in 2007 - 2010 produced the first rigorous population estimate (> 450 individuals) and the first accurate population densities for brown bears in Greece (Μap).
